A Virtual Web Site is intended for basic web sites. The sites all have common technical requirements and share a single virtual web server. A basic site uses stock scripts and doesn't require database connectivity. Support includes regular maintenance, normal software and security updates, and weekly backups.
A Managed Virtual Web Server is intended for web sites that also require a unique IP, want to run an ftp server, require database connectivity or security certificates. You can write and upload custom PHP scripts but not custom CGI's (e.g., Perl, Ruby, C, etc.). Support includes regular maintenance, normal software and security updates, and weekly backups.
An Unmanaged Virtual Web Server is intended for web sites that also require access to the CGI-BIN and the ability to install custom CGI scripts. The service includes root access and is ideal for developers who wish to install and manage various software applications or have exclusive control over their development environment. Support includes weekly backups.

We update our anti-virus dictionary to defend against the latest virus definitions. Our mail server currently scans for, and blocks, over 728,000 viruses preventing them from reaching your users. Any email anti-virus protection is not 100% reliable because all dictionary updates are issued after the virus is identified. Our email anti-virus protection is just the first line of defence and should be used with other anti-virus prevention tools especially since viruses are not just distributed by email.
