Firewall ISPs that refuse to stop spammers and the people who help them

ISPs are in business to sell access to the Internet to their customers. If an ISP is irresponsible and allows spammers to operate from their network, firewall them. The more sites that block the ISP, the less valuable their service is to their non-spamming customers. These non-spamming customers will need to find homes on more responsible ISPs. Hopefully, the Spam-friendly ISP will go out of business. If not, they will only be left with spammers for customers, and you won't lose anything by continuing to firewall them.

This is harsh, and is hard on the non-spamming customers of the ISP being blocked. But they have to realize that by giving money to that ISP they are helping support the spammers.

This technique may not be possible for you to implement - you may have customers or partners on those ISPs you need to communicate with. But if you can do it, well, nothing sends a message to an ISP faster than a paying customer leaving because of their policies towards spammers.

Once again, the point is to make life as painful as possible for the spammers and those who support them.
