Complain to the Spammer's Toll-Free Number
Sometimes spammers are silly enough to include a toll-free number in their messages. Toll-free numbers (1-800, 1-888, 1-877) are long-distance numbers that the recipient pays for calls to. Use it!
Call the number. Play around in their voice mail system. Leave messages for anyone you can find telling them how much you hate their Spam. Play your favourite CD over the phone into their voice-mail. Read out their Spam to them. Read out ALL your Spam to them. If you can reach a real person, keep them on the phone as long as you can. Perhaps you can even find someone you can educate regarding Spam and why it's bad.
Note - some jurisdictions prohibit multiple calls to a toll-free number. Your call will cost the spammer money. You may wish to make the call from a public telephone since toll-free numbers bypass any Caller ID blocking you can use on your line - they always know who called.
Basically, the spammer wasted your time and resources when they spammed you. You can choose to return the favour, or not, as a matter of personal ethics. Remember, the goal is to make them stop spamming.
