Skyway West uses Comtrend CT-507 routers and various Zyxel routers. We recommend routers as the more reliable and versatile option than ADSL modems.

A DSL modem also known as a bridge, combines one or more networks into a single seamless network while a router forwards data traffic between separate networks. A routed service separates your LAN from your ISP's network. A router examines the network addresses in the packets it receives and forwards data destined to the Internet to the ISP's router.ADSL routers enhance your Internet connection in many ways, including NAT (Network Address Translation), DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol), VPN (Virtual Private Networking) and firewall support. Some equipment includes a built-in hub so you can easily create a LAN for your DSL connection.
Comtrend Router
The CT-507 ADSL router is a compact and high performance stand-alone unit. It uses the ADI chipset to meet the specific needs of multiple users for the remote office/branch office and the small office/home office users. It provides one Ethernet port to connect with a LAN and can access the Internet, Corporate LAN or Video-on-Demand over one ordinary telephone line at speeds up to 8 Mbps. The capability of this equipment exceeds the 3.0 and 6.0 Mbps services available in our serving areas.The CT-507 ADSL router also supports up to 16 virtual concurrent connections to multiple destinations. CT-507 has full routing capabilities to segment/router IP protocol and is capable of bridging other protocols. It can also be configured as a firewall using Network Address Translation and to dynamically assign IP addresses to clients.
